Supreme Court weighs policy for migrants to wait in Mexico

TIJUANA, Mexico (AP) — When a woman gashed her leg in mountains inhabited by snakes and scorpions, she told Joel Úbeda to take her 5-yearold daughter. Úbeda refused to let the mother die, despite the advice of their smuggler and another migrant in a group of seven, and helped carry her to safety by shining a mirror in sunlight to flag a U.S. Customs and Border Protection helicopter near San Diego.

Abandoned vehicle leads to arrest of Clarksburg resident

On the morning of April 22, a deputy was dispatched to the area of Ellis Davis Road in Cooper County for a report of a theft of a motor vehicle from a residence that contained several firearms. During the investigation, the deputy located a suspicious vehicle sitting near the intersection of U Hwy and Pleasant Hill Road abandoned, which shifted the investigation to Moniteau County.
