On the evening of Monday, June 13, a Cooper County deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation traveling north on Highway 87 near the city limits of Boonville. The deputy attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle, which failed to yield and fled from the deputy.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Jasmine Himmelberg, of New Franklin, was recently named to the dean’s list at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, for the spring 2022 semester.
The Cooper County Historical Society met in the Kemper Museum at 323 Main St in downtown Boonville on Sunday, June 12. At least two dozen members and guests showed up for Laura Gramlich’s presentation on the history of Kemper Military School.
In the late 1700s, there were approximately 40 million American bison in the United States. A hundred years later they were on the verge of extinction with barely a thousand left. Yellowstone National Park only had a couple dozen bison in 1872 when the US Department of Interior (DOI) stepped in and protected them.
