Cooper County Fair royalty contests open for registration

The 2022 Cooper County Fair Queen as well as Prince and Princess contests are open for registration. To be eligible to run for fair queen, contestants must be female, never married, and residents of Cooper County for at least 6 months or graduated from a Cooper County high school. They must be between the ages of 17 and 22 years of age as of September 1, 2022 and a high school graduate. All contestants must be sponsored by a youth organization, such as FFA, 4-H, or church youth group, but need not be a member of said organization.

Missouri River Festival of the Arts ticketson sale

Happening each year on the fourth weekend in August, the Missouri River Festival of the Arts is the oldest performing arts festival in the state of Missouri and is held in the oldest theater in continuous use west of the Allegheny Mountains, Thespian Hall. Sponsored by the Friends of Historic Boonville and under the artistic direction of David Halen, Concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra as well as the Aspen Music Festival, the MRFA is three nights of classical music featuring world-class musicians with performers from both the Kansas City and St. Louis Symphonies joining together on one stage.

Boonville Rotary installs new officers

The Boonville Rotary Club initiated new officers at final June meeting on Monday June 27. Outgoing officers were thanked for their service over the past year. Matt Rowlett concluded his term as President, becoming Past President and installed Audrey Phelps into the office of President. Nick Fosse is currently President-Elect, Heather Rapp holds the office of Secretary, and Susan Lenz will be Treasurer. Board members will include Glenn Brown, Cynthia Dwyer, Jackie Leonard, and Melissa Strawhun.
