Red, White, and Blue concert to celebrate Thespian Hall returns
The Thespian Hall Conservatory Band returns to Boonville on Thursday, July 3, at 7:30 pm for a “Red, White, and Blue Celebration” in Thespian Hall. The ensemble will be performing the works of Leroy Anderson, and John Philips Sousa, plus “Armed Forces Salute,” and America’s March: “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” Also included will be selections from “The Sound of Music,” and a musical salute to “The Blues Brothers.” The concert celebrates the 168th Anniversary of the Dedication of Thespian Hall and America’s Birthday on July 4.

The Boonville R-1 Board of Education held its regular monthly meeting on June 18.

Mo Symphony Orchestra performs at Thespian Hall
A large crowd showed up at Thespian Hall on Sunday, June 22, at 2 pm to enjoy an afternoon of excellent music performed by the Mo Symphony Orchestra. Directed by Dr. Wilbur Lin, the musicians opened with the National Anthem and then proceeded to a variety of soundtracks such as “Encanto,” “Back to the Future,” and “Jurassic Park.” As a tribute to members of our armed forces, Dr. Lin had the lights brought up during “Armed Forces Medley,” which was arranged by Kirkland/Berens, and had audience members stand as their branch of the military was recognized.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Agriculture is now accepting applications for funding through the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program. Interested individuals, community organizations and research institutions working to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in Missouri should submit their application by Wednesday, July 2.
