Local student Laci C Stoddard receives national honor

Atlanta, GA - Prairie Home R-V High School student recognized for superior academic achievement by the National Honor Society of High School Scholars The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) announced student Laci C Stoddard from Boonville, MO, has been selected to become a member of the esteemed organization. The Society recognizes top scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship, and community involvement. The announcement was made by NSHSS Co-founder and President James W. Lewis.

Cooper County Summer Ball hosting co-ed kickball tournament

Kick for the Kids! Cooper County Summer Ball is hosting a co-ed kickball tournament starting at 10 AM, Saturday October 8th. Registration is $100 per 10 person team with a 2 game guarantee. There is no age limit. Concessions will be available, and there will be a 50/50 raffle supporting the Steve Tracy family. The tournament will take place at the Prairie Home Ball Field on Hwy J. Contact Jamie at jwallingingford@fscb.com to register. Also on Saturday, October 8th, will be the Speedy Petey Mouse Races to support the Prairie Home Pool. $15 ticket provides entry and 1 free raffle ticket. There will be a silent auction and food available. Dinner is at 5PM and the races will be held from 6-9PM. Races take place at Squeeze Play on Hwy 87 in Prairie Home, across from the school.

Bunceton students participate in anti-bullying event

Superintendent Dr. Kathryn Anderson reported, “Here at Bunceton Schools, with the help of our new counselor, Rebekah Hendrickson, we are taking proactive steps to ensure our school and its students are following the Dragon Way! Dragons are Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. Today, all students participated in an Anti-Bullying Event put on by NextEra Music. They were presented with a powerful message that “You Matter, you Have Value, and You Have a Purpose! This made it another Great Day to be a Dragon!”
