Passing the Hat Adds Up

Boonville, MO - It started more than ten years ago. At each monthly meeting, the Cooper County Area Retired Teachers and Personnel Association have “passed the hat” for freewill donations to help the Library find a new home. The Cooper County Branch of Boonslick Regional Library (BRL), located at the corner of Main and Locust Streets, had outgrown the building years before and was still trying to expand, rebuild, or relocate. Knowing how critical it was to have a local library that compliments and augments the school curriculum, the group wanted to help but also wanted members to feel comfortable with whatever donation they could make for the cause. Members knew firsthand how important it was to have the resources of the Library available for their students.
