Fall art show opens August 31

Fayette, Mo. – The Ashby-Hodge Gallery of American Art, on the campus of Central Methodist University, will open its fall show on Sunday, August 31, with a reception celebrating “The World According to Tom & Larry.” The fall exhibit featuring works by Larry Kantner, Thomas Hart Benton, and Benton’s students will run until November 20.

PH weight room receives donation from kickball

The Booster Club had an awesome day hosting the kickball tournament. They would like to thank everyone personally who showed up to play, and the spectators for coming out, to support the kids of Prairie Home School. First place winners went to the high school baseball team. Second place went to We Thought This Was Dodgeball, and third place went to the Orange team, who graciously donated their trophy to the ten and under team. The event raised $649.00 which will be donated to the high school weight room.

Senior Center presents “Alice in Wonderland”

About 40 paying guests filled the Senior Center on Saturday, August 23, and enjoyed a spaghetti dinner while members of the Boonslick Senior Center entertained them with “Alice in Wonderland”, an interactive murder mystery. Outrageous costumes and makeup added to the fun as actors moved in and around the diners while playing their parts. Guests had the opportunity to follow along as clues were presented in order to solve the mystery of who murdered Tweedledee. There was no shortage of suspects and all were quick to point fingers at everyone else.

More than just a food drive: Boonville and Pilot Grove FFA Chapters help pack 177,000 meals at State Fair

Members of the Boonville and Pilot Grove FFA Chapters joined more than 650 FFA members and agricultural leaders on Tuesday, August 12, for the Missouri State FFA Day of Service, a component of the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation (MFCF) Drive to Feed Kids (the Drive). Gathering at the Missouri State Fair, FFA members packed 177,792 meals to feed food insecure Missouri families, part of a year-long effort to stand in the gap for the one in five Missouri children facing food insecurity.
