It’s right around the corner, so be sure your calendar is marked on Saturday, October 18, for the 4th Annual Sippin’ Strollin’ Rockin’ & Rollin’ celebration in Historic Downtown Boonville! Invite your family and friends and come join the fun! Downtown Boonville will be THE place to be for the event that will again be co-sponsored by the Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of the Library for the Boonslick Regional Library—Cooper County Branch. It will feature tastings and sales of a variety of wines, craft beers, and distillery spirits that will be presented by their signature establishments. In addition to the wide variety of distinctive beverages, delicious fare will be provided by local restaurants and well know food trucks from central Missouri that will be located throughout the event area.

Prairie Home rec ball prepares start

The Prairie Home Recreational Ball forms are out now for children in 3rd & 4th and 5th & 6th grades to sign up for fall basketball and cheerleading. Sign up forms should have been sent home with the students and need to be turned into the school by the end of the school day on September 19th. If your student did not bring a form home, please call the school and request another form. Dues will be $25.00 per student with a $50.00 cap per family. Senior day: Still of value

On Saturday, September 6, the River of Life (ROL) Church sponsored an all-day Senior Day designed to encourage, uplift, and let Seniors know they were Still of Value. Over fifty seniors attended and enjoyed a day filled with a free breakfast and lunch, two gifted and uplifting speakers, brief information sessions, free services, and hourly giveaways.

SFCC’s Student Support Services TRiO program receives 5-year grant

Sedalia, Mo - State Fair Community College’s Student Support Services (SSS) TRiO program has received another five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education. SFCC’s program will receive $305,615 per year to serve 160 students annually up through August 31, 2030. SFCC received its first SSS grant in September 2000, and it has been renewed for consecutive funding cycles since then.

NRCS Missouri offers funding opportunities for farmers and landowners under four regional partnership projects

Columbia, Missouri – USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Missouri invites qualifying farmers and landowners to apply to receive technical and financial assistance through the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). Funding is available for four regional partnership projects. Applications must be received by September 15, 2025 to be considered for this round of funding.
