National Librarian Day

This past week included National Librarian Day. It was designed to honor and thank all the hard working men and women around the country who work/volunteer at a local library. Librarians do so much more than just check out books. They order books, keep them organized for easy access, help with research, and still find time to volunteer at community events and fundraisers. They even find time to let the public know about newly arrived additions.

Inskeep named Artist of the Month at BHS

Boonville High School senior Abigale Inskeep was named Artist of the month for March. Boonville Arts Teacher Dionne Murphy said Inskeep was highly creative in the way she split up her positive and negative space, by creating an organic shape to overlap the figure. “Her composition and attention to detail make this a stand out piece,” Murphy said. In March, Art 1 students learned about positive and negative space. Murphy said the students chose their own subject matter, and had to draw part of it in the positive space and negative space. She said students also had the freedom to choose what medium(s) they wanted to use.
