Boonslick Regional Library’s Outreach Services, BRLMobile2GO, provides outreach to Pettis, Benton and Cooper counties to residents who are not able to visit a library location, including senior centers, day cares, schools, community centers and remote areas. BRL2GO provides free Wi-Fi access to rural communities, brings books to community centers, schools and rural areas, delivers books on a schedule each month, brings specifically requested titles or a new collection at each visit, and provides all Outreach Services free of charge. The Friends of Historic Boonville art show has become an annual Heritage Days Tradition. Art was displayed in the historic Hain House for viewing on Friday, June 27 during the Brown Bag Lunch Concert and from 9-4 on Saturday, June 28.

Following a tremendous response to the public Open House held during Heritage Days that drew 764 visitors, the Friends of the Library are busy preparing for the fundraiser for furnishings – A Mid-Summer’s Eve Stroll – for those interested in a leisurely stroll about the three floors of the Library’s soon-to-be-new home in a festive atmosphere. During the fundraising event on Saturday, July 19, from 5 pm to 7 pm, guests will have the opportunity to stroll about the Library, taking in the new interior design and layout, while enjoying refreshments and listening to live music.
Directed by Steve Litwiller, The Thespian Hall Conservatory Band played to a near full house at its Red, White and Blue Concert Thursday evening, July 3. Opening with the National Anthem, they honored America’s Birthday with an hour’s worth of patriotic music which included Bugler’s Holiday, the William Tell Overture, and the Stars and Stripes Forever. Van Nixon served as Master of Ceremonies as he announced the music and gave the history behind it. During the Armed Forces Salute, the house lights were brought up and allowed veterans and members of the armed forces to stand and be recognized for their service.

It was a busy meeting for the City Council this week as they kicked off their meeting Monday evening.
The Cooper County Fair has long been a staple in the community.
The new school year will be starting in just a few weeks and school supplies are expensive.
