More than 80 guests joined the Friends of the Library at their fundraiser for furnishings – A Mid-Summer’s Eve Stroll – on Saturday evening at the Library’s soon-to-be new home on the Historic Kemper Campus. With the backdrop of music by the string trio, Heartstrings, guests were able to leisurely stroll about the three floors of the newly renovated 1906 red brick building while enjoying a wide variety of hors d’oeuvres and beverages that were prepared and donated by members of the Friends group.

Local youth had the opportunity to attend a Kids College Day this past week at State Fair Community College.
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Missouri River Festival of the Arts in Boonville, Missouri, August 21-23. St. Louis Symphony principal violinist David Halen serves as Artistic Director, recruiting world class soloists and symphony musicians from the Kansas City and St. Louis Symphonies to perform in historic Thespian Hall. The theater was built in 1857.
