With the Boonville City Council’s approval of the street closings and lifting the open container ordinance for the event area, the 4th Annual Sippin’ Strollin’ Rockin’ & Rollin’ community celebration is moving forward with vigor. “We are fortunate to have the support and assistance from the City Council and the City’s departments,” noted Co-Chair Ken Hirlinger. “We couldn’t hold this community celebration with them,” he added.

Boonville, MO – The Boonville R-I School District proudly announces that Boonville High School Activities Director Chris Shikles will retire at the end of the 2025-26 school year. After years of dedicated service, Mr. Shikles is looking forward to this next chapter while also assisting in the hiring process and supporting a smooth transition for the next Activities Director. The district is grateful for his leadership and excited to work together to ensure Pirate Athletics remains strong well into the future.

The Cooper County Historical Society hosted Dr. Candace Sall, Director of the University of Missouri Department of Anthropology, at the River, Rails and Trails Museum in Boonville on Sunday, September 14. Dr. Sall brought artifacts found in Missouri and discussed the world’s oldest sandals which were found here in Missouri.

Invite your family and friends and come join the fun! Downtown Boonville will be THE place to be for the event that will again be co-sponsored by the Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of the Library for the Boonslick Regional Library—Cooper County Branch. It will feature tastings and sales of a variety of wines, craft beers, and distillery spirits that will be presented by their signature establishments. In addition to the wide variety of distinctive beverages, delicious fare will be provided by local restaurants and well know food trucks from central Missouri that will be located throughout the event area.

The Brady Showgrounds were covered with antique tractors, threshers, steam engines, small engines, and old cars as the Missouri River Valley Steam Engine Association held their 61st Back to the Farm Reunion.
