“A Mid-Summer’s Eve Stroll” through the Library’s soon-to-be new home on July 19th was not only a festive summer soiree hosted by the Friends of the Library, but also a successful launching of an important campaign to help raise funds for needed furnishings and equipment. The Library’s new location at 707 Third Street on the Historic Kemper Campus is a three-story building that is more than twice the size as the current location on Main Street and offers expanded spaces for all collections—children, young adults, and adults—as well as a Community Room, the Uncas McGuire Discovery Center, and much much more.
The start of a new school year means new faces amongst the faculty and staff of the Boonville R-1 School District.

Starting in 2025, seniors 62 years of age and older may receive a property tax credit for Cooper County.

Boonville, MO – On Saturday evening at approximately 7:50 p.m., Boonville Fire Department crews were dispatched to 400 Boone Village Apartments for a reported kitchen fire.
On 8/17/2025, at about 0730 hours, Cooper County deputies and MSHP troopers were dispatched to an address on Hwy 135 south of Martinsville for a possible armed intruder inside of the residence. The owner of the residence was able to exit the residence, but an unknown male subject was still inside his residence.
The 2025 – 2026 school year for both the Boonville R-1 School District and Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School started on Tuesday.
Prior the City Council held a public hearing to establish the tax levy rates 2025.
