Cake, punch, gifts and cards awaited Vicki Ghea as staff, patrons, and members of the Friends of the Library honored her with a Farewell & Happy Retirement Reception on Thursday, March 27, at the Boonville Public Library. More than two dozen friends and acquaintances arrived at 2pm to say good-by and wish Ghea well in her new life as a retired person. A long list of things patrons will miss includes the Monday morning Library Yarns group. Another staff member has volunteered to keep the group going. “I’ll be back to join the group when I can,” Ghea promised.
Boonville High School senior William M. Schenck has earned a top academic honor as a 2025 Missouri Scholars 100 recipient, recognizing him as one of the most accomplished high school seniors in the state.
The Cooper County Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management will soon have room to stretch their wings as the county has purchased the Bradley Automotive building on Ashley Road.
Boonslick Regional Library’s Outreach Services, BRLMobile2GO, provides outreach to Pettis, Benton and Cooper counties to residents who are not able to visit a library location, including senior centers, day cares, schools, community centers and remote areas. BRL2GO provides free Wi-Fi access to rural communities, brings books to community centers, schools and rural areas, delivers books on a schedule each month, brings specifically requested titles or a new collection at each visit, and provides all Outreach Services free of charge. We look forward to serving you!
