For the seniors at Boonville High School, Sunday, May 18 marked the close of their primary and secondary school careers as they walked across the stage in Windsor Gymnasium at BHS to accept their diplomas.
With summer fast approaching, that means a Boonville staple will soon be open for the season.
On 5/18/2025, an inmate in the Cooper County Detention Center became unresponsive and not breathing. Life saving measures were performed by staff, along with law enforcement and EMS, who arrived a short time later. Despite the efforts to revive the inmate, the individual was pronounced deceased. The Cooper County Coroner’s Office along with the Boonville Police Department were requested to do an investigation into the incident. An autopsy was performed by the Boone County Medical Examiners Office. More information will be released when it is obtained.
