“After many years with Aging Best, the Boonslick Senior Center is going independent effective July 1, 2025,” announced board member Kathy Loerzel. “This means we will be doing in-house cooking which gives us the opportunity to make meals more dietary friendly.”

When it was announced earlier this year that The Palace Restaurant was closing, members of the community mourned the soon to be loss of a Boonville icon.
The phrase “many hands make light work” penned by John Heywood, is especially true for a large event such as Heritage Days.
Boonslick Regional Library’s Outreach Services, BRLMobile2GO, provides outreach to Pettis, Benton and Cooper counties to residents who are not able to visit a library location, including senior centers, day cares, schools, community centers and remote areas. BRL2GO provides free Wi-Fi access to rural communities, brings books to community centers, schools and rural areas, delivers books on a schedule each month, brings specifically requested titles or a new collection at each visit, and provides all Outreach Services free of charge. As fundraising efforts continue to provide needed furnishings for the Library’s new home on the Historic Kemper Campus, a glimpse of the completed renovations will be possible for the public during the Heritage Days community celebration. During Public Comments at Monday’s Boonville City Council Meeting, Mary Pat Abele shared, “It gives me the greatest pleasure to announce that there will be an Open House at the Library’s soon-to-be new home on the Historic Kemper Campus on Saturday, June 28, from 11 am to 3 pm, following the Heritage Days parade, and to share the first copies of the Open House flyers with you.” Serving as a Board Trustee and Chair of the Boonslick Regional Library (BRL) Cooper County Building and Expansion Committee for more than eight years, she reflected, “We’ve all worked very hard to turn this dream into a reality, but it truly would not have been possible without the help, support, and cooperation of the City of Boonville,” she added. “For that, and for the tremendous support we’ve received from the community, we will be forever grateful.”
