Last Saturday’s beautiful weather provided a fantastic setting for the Farmers’ Market “Kid’s Day” that was held on the Isle of Capri Hotel parking lot. The ever-popular Library Bookmobile—BRLMOBILE2GO—and the activities and special treats provided by the Friends of the Library and Library staff drew hundreds to their location. One volunteer observed sisters excited about picking up “I Love to Read” wristband bracelets, coloring sheets, and were showing each other some of the prizes, saying “You’ll want this one!” When free books were found, one little girl exclaimed “BEST DAY EVER!” It was heartwarming to Friends of the Library volunteers and Library staff to see the excitement of the youngsters’ reactions, as well as those of their parents, grandparents, and friends.
