Four musicians from Boonville earned placement in the West Central District Orchestra which rehearsed and performed an outstanding concert on Saturday afternoon in Sedalia. “This was a wonderful opportunity for our students! It challenged them as soloists because there are only two players at most on any instrument and they take on a different function within a group with string players compared to a traditional concert band,” state BHS band directors Kim Pirtle and Alec Fields. Representing the Boonville High School (left to right) were Caleb Schneringer, 4th chair percussion; Oliver Prenger, 2nd chair trumpet; Peyton Monteer, 1st chair trumpet; and Makenley Goldman, 2nd chair clarinet.Photo provided by Boonville Public Schools
