Anderson says 73-58 loss to Pintos is a wake-up call for Pirates

Boonville Pirates basketball coach Mark Anderson called Thursday night’s 73-58 loss to the California Pintos in the semifinal round of the Tri-County Conference Tournament as a wake-up call. While the loss dropped Boonville to 1-1 on the season, Anderson said he felt like the team had a good first quarter but then missed a couple of layups that they should have finished.

LSE 8th girls beat Fulton 32-31, fall to Centralia 37-15

The LSE girls eighth grade basketball team had one good game and one not so good Thursday and Friday in the Centralia Middle School Tournament. After beating the Fulton Lady Hornets on Thursday 32-31, the Lady Pirates came back and dropped a clunker Friday night against Centralia by a score of 37-15.

LSE Pirates fall short against Lange, 45-41

The LSE boys eighth grade basketball team fell in the championship game in the Centralia Middle School Tournament Friday night by losing to Lange 45-41. The Pirates, dropping to 5-4 on the season, trailed Lange 13-8 after one, 29-19 at the half and 39-26 after three quarters of play before rallying with a 45-41 advantage in the final period.
