For several years, the Boonville Rotary Club has provided smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors to the Boonville Fire Department to give to area people in need. The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team captured the championship in the Centralia Invitational Tournament Friday night by beating the Macon Tigers in a battle of two state-ranked teams 58-49. The Lady Pirates, improving to 5-1 on the season, dominated the Lady Tigers from the opening tip and led by as much as 16 in the second quarter.
Up until Friday night’s game against the Sturgeon Bulldogs in the championship in the Pilot Grove Tiger Classic, the Pilot Grove girls basketball team had been perfect on the season in three games. You can make that four in a row now after leading Sturgeon from start to finish for a convincing 58-33 victory.
The LSE Pirates wrestling team closed out the 2021 season Saturday in the Carrollton Tournament against a field of 11 teams. LSE Pirates wrestling coach Christian Stock said the team finished out the season really well.

The LSE boys seventh grade basketball team finished third in the California Tournament on Saturday by beating Russellville 41-17. The Pirates, 8-3 on the season, outscored Russellville 23-2 in the firsttwo quarters and then held a 18-15 advantage in the second half.
The Boonville Pirates wrestling team recorded wins in six of the 10 matches for a 42-35 win over the Warrensburg Tigers Thursday night in Warrensburg. The Pirates, 2-2 overall, recorded wins by fall in three of the six wins and had two other wins by major decision.
