New Franklin boys and girls win on the road against Slater

For the second time this season, the New Franklin boys basketball team came away victorious against the Slater Wildcats. Although the first came in the Glasgow Invitational Tournament the first week of December, the Bulldogs made it count again-this time in conference play-by beating Slater 56-37 Tuesday night in Slater.

Boonville frosh boys win home opener against Marshall

The Boonville boys freshmen basketball team featured a balanced scoring attack in its home opener Monday night while leading Marshall from start to finish for a 42-30 victory. The Pirates, 2-3 on the season, opened the game with eight straight points against Marshall and led 9-6 after one.

LSE girls double up Versailles

The LSE girls seventh and eighth grade basketball teams won a pair of games Monday night at home by beating the Versailles Tigers 36-15 and 51-17, respectively. In the seventh grade game, the Lady Pirates opened the game with a 18-4 lead after one against Versailles and then outscored the Tigers 8-0 in the second period to lead at the half 26-4.

Lady Tigers win conference opener against Glasgow, 66-50

The Pilot Grove Lady Tigers basketball team had another moment Tuesday night on the road against the Glasgow Yellowjackets. After capturing the championship in the Pilot Grove Tiger Classic last weekend, the Lady Tigers went on the road Tuesday night for their first conference game of the season and came away with a 66-50 win.

LSE boys win big on the road against Versailles

The LSE boys seventh and eighth grade basketball teams picked up the sweep on the road Monday night against the Versailles Tigers, winning by the scores of 38-7 and 49-36, respectively. In the seventh grade game, the Pirates opened the game by outscoring Versailles 20-2 in the first-two quarters and then held a 18-5 scoring edge in the second half to win the game by 31.

A dangerous political game unfolds as coronavirus cases spike anew
