After battling back and forth against Sturgeon Thursday night in the semifinal round of the New Franklin Tournament, head coach Ross Dobson looked no further than one of his seniors to take the shot in the final minute against the Bulldogs.

New Franklin girls fall short against Community in title game

The New Franklin girls basketball team had plenty of opportunities early on to make a run against top-seeded Community in the championship game in the New Franklin Invitational Tournament on Friday. Although the Lady Trojans led New Franklin at the end of each quarter, the Bulldogs trailed by just two at the end of the first and second quarter by the scores of 12-10 and 20-18.

Donahue, Dell and Hahn place 1st in Marshall Tournament

Dorson named superintendent at New Franklin R-1 School District

It didn’t come as a surprise that New Franklin High School Principal Benji Dorson would be stepping into a new role for the 2022-23 school year. After spending the last 20 years in the New Franklin R-1 School District, Dorson was recently named the new superintendent of the school at the December 15th board meeting.

NFL teams could lose draft pick for interview violations

The NFL has issued a warning to teams that they could lose a draft pick and face significant fines if club representatives conduct themselves unprofessionally in interviews with draft prospects. In a memo obtained by the AP that was sent to clubs on Wednesday, the league said a team would forfeit a draft pick between the first and fourth round and be fined a minimum of $150,000 if it’s determined a club representative displayed conduct that is “disrespectful, inappropriate, or unprofessional” during an interview.
