Peggy Sue Ballew, age 67, formerly of New Franklin, Missouri passed away December 18, 2021 at the Iron County Medical Center in Pilot Knob, Missouri. Peggy was born on August 10, 1954 in Mexico, Missouri a daughter of Henry and Shirley Groeber Schwartz.

Pirate wrestlers drop 2 matches against Versailles, Eldon

The opening of the 2022 season was less than kind for the Boonville Pirates wrestling team Thursday night while participating in a triangular at Eldon. While facing last year’s Tri-County Conference champions, Versailles Tigers, and the Eldon Mustangs, the Pirates unfortunately fell in both matches by the scores of 66-18 and 48-35, respectively.

After battling back and forth against Sturgeon Thursday night in the semifinal round of the New Franklin Tournament, head coach Ross Dobson looked no further than one of his seniors to take the shot in the final minute against the Bulldogs.

New Franklin girls fall short against Community in title game

The New Franklin girls basketball team had plenty of opportunities early on to make a run against top-seeded Community in the championship game in the New Franklin Invitational Tournament on Friday. Although the Lady Trojans led New Franklin at the end of each quarter, the Bulldogs trailed by just two at the end of the first and second quarter by the scores of 12-10 and 20-18.

Donahue, Dell and Hahn place 1st in Marshall Tournament

Boonville’a Audrionnah Donahue, Travis Dell and Peyton Hahn did what they had to do to get on the podium Saturday during the Marshall Tournament. While competing against a field of 16 teams in the tournament, the trio went about business as usual by capturing first in their respective weight classes.
