The Boonville Lady Pirates basketball team had plenty of reasons for wanting to win Tuesday night’s game against Smith-Cotton. First, the Lady Pirates wanted to win the game to get the bad taste out of their mouth from last Friday’s loss against the Hallsville Indians.

New Franklin falls in CAC game against Glasgow, 51-47

The New Franklin boy’s basketball team had a tough night at home Tuesday while losing to the Glasgow Yellowjackets 51-47 in CAC action. The Bulldogs, dropping to 9-4 on the season, trailed for most of the night against Glasgow as the Yellowjackets led 15-12 after one, 31- 18 at the break and 47-35 after three quarters of play.

Troost hits 2 key free throws with 4.9 seconds left in 41-40 win over Centralia

The Boonville Pirates basketball team lived by the adage that it’s not over until it’s over Monday night against the Centralia Panthers. Trailing for all but 4.9 seconds in the game, the Pirates ripped any hope that Centralia fans had when sophomore Dakota Troost hit two free throws to give Boonville its only lead in the ball game to secure a 41-40 victory.

Pilot Grove girls bounce back against Slater, boys lose

The Pilot Grove girls’ basketball team needed Tuesday night’s game against the Slater Wildcats for several reasons. While dropping 2 of 3 games in the New Franklin Tournament the week before, the Lady Tigers picked up a much-needed win Tuesday night at home by beating Slater 53-29.

Gary Pinkel Named to Hall of Fame Class of 2022

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Announced on Monday, former University of Missouri football head coach Gary Pinkel will be inducted into the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2022. Pinkel is the winningest head coach at Mizzou (2001-15) and at the University of Toledo (1991-2000).
