Donahue makes history with second place finish at districts

Boonville sophomore Audrionnah Donahue made history Sunday at the Class 1 District 2 Wrestling Tournament at North Point High School in Wentzville. By winning her semifinal match on Sunday with a first period pin against Gracey Jordan of Marceline in 1:30, Donahue became the first female wrestler at Boonville to qualify for the state tournament.

Pilot Grove boys perseveres against Community, girls lose

Pilot Grove boys’ basketball coach Derek Skaggs used the word perseverance Saturday after the Tigers took down Community R-6 74-60 in a Central Activities Conference showdown. While the win improved the Tigers record to 7-12 overall and 2-4 in the CAC, Skaggs said his team dug themselves into a hole in the first and fought hard to climb out by the end of three quarters.

Brown scores 21 to lead Missouri past Texas A&M in SEC, 70-66

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (AP) — Kobe Brown made two free throws with 9 seconds remaining and finished with 21 points to help Missouri hold off Texas A&M 70-66 on Saturday. Brown sank 5 of 9 shots from the floor and made 11 of 12 free throws for the Tigers (9-13, 3-6 Southeastern Conference).

West signs softball letter of intent with MACC

Boonville senior softball player Emma West knew right away that she wanted to play softball at Moberly Area Community College in Moberly. After playing the last four years for the Boonville Lady Pirates softball team, West said she chose MACC because she really liked the coach and his plans for the program.
