THE LOWE DOWN: Mosaics

I have heard it said that we are all mosaics of all the people who mean the most to us. There are habits or customs we all do that are woven from our family tapestry. It could be eating a particular food because your grandmother ate it when she needed comfort or carrying a handkerchief as your dad did every day of his life. These sentimental pieces of people make us feel closer to those we have lost and keep them alive in our hearts.

Litwiller inducted into Missouri Music Educators Association Hall of Fame

Steve Litwiller, former director of bands for the Boonville R-I School District was inducted into the Missouri Music Educators Association Hall of Fame on January 28, 2022. The award was presented for his 42 year career teaching instrumental music, 35 of which were in public schools; service to the Missouri High School Activities Association, and his work in developing a Music Educator Mentoring Program to train mentors and retain young music teachers in Missouri. The program is now being adapted and implemented by other states to encourage young educators to remain in the profession.

Mendez, Langlotz crowned Boonville Courtwarming King and Queen

It was a great night to be a Pirates for Boonville seniors Hayden Mendez and Audrey Langlotz, as they were crowned Homecoming King and Queen during halftime of the Boonville boys game against Southern Boone Friday night at the Windsor gymnasium at Boonville High School. Hahn wins state title in 285-pound weight class

Boonville senior wrestler Peyton Hahn went with something different Saturday in the championship match in the 285-pound weight class Saturday at Mizzou Arena in Columbia. After battling Monett’s Harrison Merrian to a 1-1 tie in regulation, Hahn said he knew what Merrian was going to go for and used the foot sweep against him.
