Boonville Boonville Police Department 3-2-22 24 Hour Holds Akelia J. Crowley, 28, of Bethany, was arrested and transported to the Cooper County Detention Center where she was charged with DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED.

The Boonville Pirates basketball team played right with Fatima for one half Tuesday night in the opening round of the Class 4 District 9 Tournament at Blair Oaks High School in Wardsville. As for the remaining two quarters, the Pirates couldn’t seem to buy a basket while Fatima scored an unprecedented 45 points for a half to beat Boonville 70-34.
Boonville Babe Ruth Rookie and Junior Babe Ruth signups will be held on March 12-13 at Twillman field in Harley Park. On Saturday, March 12, signups will be held from 9 a.m.
Even though the Boonville boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were playing in the district tournament at Blair Oaks High School in Wardsville on Monday and Tuesday, the opening day of spring sports hit the ground running with the first official day of practice on February 28.
It didn’t come as a surprise that the two best boy’s and girl’s teams would also have the Most Valuable Players for the 2021-22 season. While the Community girls captured the Central Activities Conference title at 10-0, the Cairo boys also finished undefeated in league play at 9-0.

Pilot Grove girls’ basketball coach Grant Fricke said the sectional playoff game Tuesday night against state-ranked Leeton usually don’t come around often. So, when the Lady Tigers trailed Leeton by just two (10-8) after first period’s end Tuesday night at Harrisburg High School in a Class 1 Sectional playoff game, Fricke considered that a win for Pilot Grove.
Dennis “Denny” John Herigon, 64, of Boonville passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the University of Missouri Hospital. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Howard Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
