Boonville Pirates golf coach Rob VanderLinden openly admitted that he didn’t know what to expect from Monday’s quadrangular against Eugene, Fulton and South Callaway at Fulton Country Club. As it turned out, VanderLinden was pleasantly surprised as Boonville wound up winning the meet by two strokes over Eugene 191- 193.

The New Franklin baseball team accomplished its one goal Monday night in its home opener against the Fayette Falcons. After finishing 1-1 over the weekend at Versailles, the Bulldogs followed it up with an impressive performance on Monday by scoring in three of the four innings for a 12-1 victory in five innings.

Boonville girls track coach Melissa Baker used the words starting points to refer to Monday’s UCM (University of Central Missouri) Indoor Track Meet in Warrensburg. While competing against a field of 30 teams, Baker said it was great to get the first meet under their belts.

Boonville girls’ soccer coach Alec Adair called Tuesday night’s 7-0 loss against the Columbia Hickman Kewpies as “good teaching points” for the rest of the season.
