New Franklin picks up 2 wins against Prairie Home, Jamestown

The New Franklin baseball team threw everything but the kitchen sink at Prairie Home and Jamestown Friday night in a doubleheader at New Franklin. Although head coach Erich Gerding said he was just glad to be able to play under the sun, the Bulldogs took advantage of the opportunity by sweeping by the Panthers and Eagles 14-0 and 5-4, respectively.

LSE boys and girls garner 17 first place finishes in LSE Track Meet

The LSE boys and girls seventh and eighth grade track teams literally put its best foot forward Friday while hosting a five team meet at the BHS Sports Complex. While competing against Osage, Blair Oaks, California and Prairie Home, the LSE Pirates recorded a total of 17 first place finishes in the meet.

12 area players selected to KMZU Dream Team

Twelve area players, from three different classes, were recently selected to the annual KMZU Dream Team for the 2021-22 season. A total of 248 players in Class 1-6 were selected by coaches in the KMZU listening area.

Pirates overpower Hallsville with seven-run fifth inning for 9-2 victory

Boonville Pirates baseball coach Greg Hough could see the writing on the wall while playing Hallsville to a 0-0 tie through 4 ½ innings Tuesday night at Twillman Field in Harley Park. After a one-run game Monday night against Blair Oaks and another two one-run games earlier against Capital City and Hickman, Hough had a feeling the Pirates were in for another close game against the Indians.
