Pirate netters lose another close match against CIS, 5-4

The Boonville Pirates tennis team had another tough loss Tuesday night on the road by losing to Columbia Independent 5-4. The Pirates, dropping to 1-5 on the season, recorded wins in just one out of three doubles matches but came back with a split in singles with three wins in six matches.

Boonville C Team picks up sweep against Mexico

The Boonville Pirates C Baseball Team picked up a sweep Monday night at Twillman Field in Harley Park by beating the Mexico Bulldogs 12-1 and 3-2. The Pirates, 4-6 on the season, fell to the Bulldogs in a doubleheader just last week.

Tigers suffer first conference loss against Cairo, 5-0

The Pilot Grove baseball team knew if they were going to win the Central Activities Conference this spring, they would have to beat both Northeast of Cairo and New Franklin. Although the Tigers were perfect in conference play going into Tuesday night’s game, Cairo played flawless baseball for seven innings for a 5-0 victory.

New Franklin rallies past La Plata, 5-4

The New Franklin baseball team could have easily packed its bags while trailing La Plata 4-0 after three innings Tuesday night in New Franklin. In a game that was originally scheduled to be played at La Plata, the Bulldogs found themselves hosting a game for the second straight home after beating Community the night before 12-0 in five innings.
