Mendez looks to make his mark in wrestling at CMU

Boonville senior wrestler Hayden Mendez knew Central Methodist University was the place for him the first time he stepped on campus last Friday. After taking visits to other schools to continue his wrestling career, Mendez said he chose CMU because it was close to home.

A-Bow-K remains unbeaten in Midget League

A-Bow-K scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back, beating C&R Market 8-5 in Midget League action Thursday night at the Midget League Field at Kemper Park. A-Bow-K, 4-0 on the season, scored runs in every inning with five in the first, one again in the second and two in the third.

American Family wins 7-1 over Creations by Diana in 8U softball

American Family 8U softball team improved to 2-0 on the season by turning back Creations by Diana 7-1 Thursday night in the Boonslick Softball League at Lions Park. American Family never trailed in the game against Creations by Diana and scored two runs in the first and five again in the second.

Crowley, Trabue lead CCB past W-K Ford 3-0 in 10U softball

Citizen’s Community Bank scored three runs in the second inning for the game’s only runs to beat W-K Ford 3-0 last Wednesday in Boonslick 10U softball at Lions Park. Kerrigan Trabue picked up the win in the circle for Citizen’s Community Bank, 1-1, while Mikayla Bohlken took the loss for W-K Ford, who dropped to 0-1.
