The Boonville Pirates baseball team had three players recently selected to the Tri-County All-Conference Team for the 2022 season. While finishing in a twoway tie for third with California at 4-3 on the season, the Pirates also had one player selected to the first team, one to the second team and one to the honorable mention team in the TCC.
As the sun set Monday night in a Class 1 Sectional game at Liberty Park in Sedalia, Pilot Grove baseball coach Joe Vossler knew the season had come to an end for the Tigers. Not because Vossler wanted it to be over, Northwest of Hughesville just proved on this night to be the better team by beating the Tigers 10-0 in five innings.
Axis Seed broke a 7-7 tie after 3 ½ by exploding for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to beat Rt. B Café 14-7 Monday night in Cal Ripken Minor at the BHS Ball Field.
WK Auto led Pilot Grove COOP from start to finish for a 11-0 win in four inning Monday night in Midget League action at Kemper Park. WK Auto, 2-2-1 on the season, opened the game with two runs in the first inning and then sent one run across in the second, four again in the third and four in the fourth to win by the mercy rule.

Citizen’s Community Bank won a highly contested game Monday night in the Boonslick 10U Softball League at Lions Park by beating Boonville Abstract 2-1 in four innings. Citizen’s Community Bank 1-1 on the season, scored both of its runs in the top half of the first while Boonville Abstract scored its only run of the ball game in the bottom half of the inning.
Fayette’s 10U baseball team scored two runs in the first and then sent one run across in the second, five again in the third and 12 in the fifth to beat Rick Ball Auto Group 20-5 in Cal Ripken Minor Wednesday night at the CO- COBA Ball Field.
Boonville Abstract broke a 2-2 tie with one run in the third inning to beat WK Ford 3-2 in Boonslick 10U softball Wednesday night at Lions Park. WK Ford, dropping to 0-3 on the season, opened the game with one run in the top half of the first only to see Boonville Abstract rally back with two in the bottom half of the inning to make it 2-1.
In Wednesday night’s games in Midget League, Boonville Caterpillar defeated Tint Shop 8-4 at the BHS Field while C&R Market beat Fayette by the same identical score at the Midget League Field. Boonville Caterpillar, 3-1 on the season, never trailed in the game against Tint Shop and led 3-0 after two and 8-0 after three.
