A-Bow-K, Fayette play to 5-5 tie in Midget League

A-Bow-K scored the game’s first five runs while Fayette came back with the next five to finish in a 5-5 tie on the final night in Midget League action Monday night at Kemper Park. A-Bow-K, who finished the season at 7-4-1 overall, opened the game with four runs in the second and then sent one run across in the bottom half of the third.

CCB edges WK Ford 8-7 in 8U softball

Citizen’s Community Bank broke a 5-5 tie after four by outscoring WK Ford 3-2 in the fifth inning for an 8-7 victory Tuesday night in 8U softball at Lions Park. CCB also opened the game with one run in the first, one again in the third and three in the fourth to lead WK Ford 5-0.

Rick Ball wins 17-8 over JPS Productions in 12U softball

In a makeup game from May 31 in 12U softball, Rick Ball defeated JPS Productions 17-8 Tuesday night at Rolling Hills Park. JPS Productions led Rick Ball 6-5 after one and 8-5 after 1 ½ before surrendering 12 runs in the bottom half of the second to suffer the loss.

Boonville Abstract doubles up WK Ford 18-9 in 10U softball

Boonville Abstract broke a 6-6 tie after one by outscoring WK Ford 12-3 over the next two innings for a 18-9 win Monday night in 10U softball at Lions Park. After plating six runs in the first, Boonville Abstract took the lead for good with six again in the second and six in the third.

GKC CPAs, Shelter Insurance win in NF LL Girls softball

GKC CPAs scored a total of nine runs in the first three innings to beat Exchange Bank 9-1 in player pitch Saturday in New Franklin Little League Girls Softball. GKC CPAs never trailed in the game against Exchange Bank and held a 2-1 lead after one before pulling away in the final two innings with three in the second and four again in the third.

Romanchuk wins medal in pool while father fights in Ukraine

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) — Elite swimmer Mykhailo Romanchuk doesn’t know if his father was able to see him winning a medal for Ukraine at the swimming world championships. Romanchuk’s father is fighting in the east of Ukraine, where pockets of resistance are still denying Russia full military control of the region almost four months after it unleashed its invasion.
