Rhodes Leonard qualified for the Junior Olympics in the 800-meter race at the four-state regional meet held in Carl’s Junction, MO in the 17-18 year-old division. Leonard qualified by taking fifth place out of 28. Only the top six advance to the Junior Olympics. This will be his third time competing at the national level. What is possibly the most iconic building in Boonville is set to celebrate its 165th anniversary in July. In 1838, an all-male dramatic group known as the Thespian Society was established in Boonville, with 60 local leaders.
On the final night of Cal Ripken Major, Auto Body Experts and Quinlan-Agency.com both won by the mercy rule over their opponents. Although QA.com defeated 10-0 in four innings, Auto Body Experts had a little more at stake against Prime Construction in Pilot Grove.
Carnival Kings provided the carnival for Heritage Days this year. Located along Second Street, it featured rides, bounce houses, games, and of course fair food.
