CHICAGO (AP) — A single ticket bought in a Chicago suburb beat the odds and won a $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot. According to megamillions.com, there was one jackpot-winning ticket in the draw Friday night, and it was bought at a Speedway gas station and convenience store in Des Plaines.

Boonville host Midwest Plains Regional Tournament

The Cal Ripken 9-year-old Midwest Plains Regional Tournament kicked on Thursday night with opening ceremonies, ceremonial first pitch by Mark Strange and games for the players and coaches. Eight teams from four states will participate in the three day tournament in Boonville with the winner to move on to the Cal Ripken World Series in Treasure Coast, Florida on August 1-6.

The Boonville 12-year-old All-Stars made an appearance during opening ceremonies for the Cal Ripken 9-year-old Midwest Plains Regional Tournament Thursday night at the COCOBA Field at Harley Park.
