Lady Pirates finish second, JV team third in Boonville Par 3 Tournament

As expected, the Boonville Lady Pirates golf team were in contention for the title Friday during the Boonville Lady Pirates Par 3 Classic at Hail Ridge Golf Course in Boonville. With all five starters back from last year’s team, Boonville golf coach Rob Vander-Linden knew it would come down to Osage and Boonville for the title.

New Franklin finishes third in Lady Pirate Lead Off Classic

New Franklin softball coach Sam Crowley couldn’t have been more pleased with the Lady Bulldogs third place finish Saturday in the Lady Pirate Lead Off Classic in Boonville. After beating Moberly in the opening game of the tournament at the Boonville High School Ball Field 2-1, the Lady Bulldogs dropped their second game against Kirksville in the semifinals 15-0 in three innings before bouncing back with an 8-3 win over Eugene in the third place finish.

New Franklin goes 2-0 in Atlanta Tournament

The New Franklin baseball team captured the championship in the Atlanta Tournament last Saturday by beating La Plata and Atlanta by the scores of 3-2 and 11-1, respectively. The Bulldogs, 2-0 on the season, opened the tournament against La Plata and took a 2-0 lead into the top half of the sixth inning before giving up two runs.

Pilot Grove Tigers win season opener against Otterville, 10-0

The Pilot Grove Tigers baseball team scored early and often Friday night in the season opener by beating the Otterville Eagles 10-0 in five innings. The Tigers, 1-0 on the season, opened the game with two runs in the top half of the first and then sent five runs across in the second, one again in the third and two in the fifth to win by the run rule.
