The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team knew the cards were stacked again them Saturday in the Hickman Tournament. Minus two starters in the lineup, the Lady Pirates finished the tournament with a combined record of 1-7 overall.
The Pilot Grove baseball team picked up another win Friday night on the road by beating a good New Bloomfield team 10-7. The Tigers, 4-0 on the season, trailed New Bloomfield briefly after giving up two runs in the first but quickly bounced back with three runs in the third and three again in the third to go up 6-2.
The New Franklin girls’ softball team gave it their all Saturday while falling one game short in the annual New Franklin Softball Tournament. After back to back wins over Crocker 5-0 and Westran 7-0, the Lady Bulldogs appeared to have nothing left in the championship game against a good Fayette team while losing by a score of 15-3.

The Boonville Lady Pirates tennis team had its hands full in more ways than one Thursday night on the road against the Marshall Owls. Aside from playing at Marshall, which is always tough, the Lady Pirates also had to face one of the toughest teams from top to bottom in the area.
