Pirates fail to capitalize on opportunities in 5-0 loss to Battle

The Boonville Pirates soccer team saw a plethora of opportunities fall by the wayside Tuesday night on the road against the Battle Spartans. Although the Spartans eventually pulled away in the second half for a 5-0 victory, Boonville was very much in the game for the 40 minutes while trailing by three goals.

Boonville drops 9-0 decision against Helias

The Boonville Lady Pirates tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision Wednesday night on the road against the Helias Crusaders. While the Lady Pirates dropped to 1-5 on the season, head coach Melissa Harvey said this season has proven to be a struggle so far and the netters aren’t appreciating the losses.

Lady Pirates pull away in the fifth against Marshall

The Boonville Lady Pirates softball team had no way of knowing how Monday night’s game against Marshall was going to go after playing the Owls to a 2-2 tie for 4 ½ innings. But then in the bottom half of the fifth, Boonville could finally breath a sigh of relief after exploding for seven runs on just two hits en route to a 12-2 victory.

Lady Pirates rally past Osage to win in four sets in TCC

The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team rallied from one set down to beat School of the Osage Tuesday night on the road in Tri-County Conference action 30-32, 25-23, 25-23 and 25-16. While the win improved Boonville’s record to 2-6-1 overall and 1-3 in the TCC, head coach Brittney Lowe said the girls played well.

Lady Tigers rally past Sturgeon in CAC, 9-4

The Pilot Grove Lady Tigers softball team picked up its third straight win in the Central Activities Conference Tuesday night by beating the Sturgeon Bulldogs 9-4. The Lady Tigers, 5-5 overall and 3-0 in the CAC, struggled to find any rhythm early on against Sturgeon and trailed 3-2 after one and 4-2 after two.

Lady Bulldogs fall on the road against Fayette, 12-0

The New Franklin girls’ softball team dropped its third straight game and fell to 6-5 on the season by losing to the Fayette Falcons Tuesday night in Fayette 12-0. The Lady Bulldogs, who fell to Fayette in the championship game last Saturday in the New Franklin Tournament 15-3, once again struggled to find any offense while finishing with just four hits.

Pirates JV wins 36-26 over Hallsville in TCC

Much like last Friday’s thrilling 5958 overtime win over Hallsville, the Boonville Pirates JV football team had another battle on the gridiron Monday night at Gene Reagan Field against the Indians resulting in a 3626 victory.

Schupp hits walk off in 10th, Pilot Grove beats Sturgeon 11-10

It took a walk off sacrifice fly by Pilot Grove junior Alec Schupp in the 10th inning to seal a 11-10 win over the Sturgeon Bulldogs Tuesday night CAC action in Pilot Grove. The Tigers, 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the CAC, led Sturgeon 3-1 after the first inning in a tight game throughout which saw the Bulldogs rally back with three in the top half of the second to go up 4-3.
