LSE Pirates 7th overpowers Southern Boone, 30-0

The LSE Pirates seventh grade football team recorded its third straight shutout and improved to 3-0 on the season by beating the Southern Boone Eagles 30-0 Tuesday night in the home opener at Gene Reagan Field. As for the LSE Pirates eighth grade football team, they suffered their first loss of the season after two straight ties by losing to the Eagles 22-6.

Jamestown edges Pilot Grove 4-3 in 8 innings

The Jamestown girls’ softball team avenged an earlier loss by one run by beating the Pilot Grove Lady Tigers 4-3 Tuesday night in Jamestown. The Lady Tigers, 6-7 on the season, led off the game with two runs in the top half of the first only to have Jamestown rally back with one run in each of the third and fourth innings of play to tie the game at 2-all.

Pirates JV edges Southern Boone, 30-26

The Boonville Pirates JV football team picked up its third straight win Monday night in Ashland by beating the Southern Boone Eagles 30-26. The Pirates, 3-1 on the season, opened the game with a 24-6 halftime lead against the Eagles but had it cut to just four points in the third quarter after Southern Boone scored two touchdowns to make it 24-20.

Belstle tosses no-hitter against Glasgow, strikes out 17 batters in 4-0 win

New Franklin girls softball team scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back, beating the Glasgow Lady Yellowjackets Tuesday night in CAC action in New Franklin 4-0. The Lady Bulldogs, 9-5 overall and 4-0 in the CAC, also outhit Glasgow 6-0 with a no-hit bid by sophomore Brynn Belstle, who struck out 17 batters in seven innings.

Lady Pirates struggle defensively in 15-7 loss to Battle Spartans

Boonville girls’ softball coach Christie Zoeller said errors took the Lady Pirates completely out of the game Tuesday night in a 15-7 loss to the Battle Spartans. While dropping to 8-10 on the season, Zoeller said the team committed a total of nine errors and there is simply no way to come back from that.

Lady Pirates play better in loss to Fatima

The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team is getting closer to putting it all together.
