Pirates face strong Osage team in 6-1 loss

Boonville boys’ soccer coach Alec Adair went out on the limb Monday night after facing School of the Osage. While dropping a 6-1 decision against Osage, Adair said the Indians are without a doubt one of the best teams the Pirates will play all year.

Lady Pirates have several players step up in 3 set win against Mexico

The Boonville Lady Pirates volleyball team won in three sets Monday night on the road by beating the Mexico Lady Bulldogs 25-21, 25-23 and 2514. Boonville head coach Brittney Lowe said even though it wasn’t their best play against Mexico several players stepped up in place of Cassidy Bishop, who was out sick, including Haylee Hamilton.

Lady Bulldogs blank Harrisburg, 6-0

The New Franklin Lady Bulldogs softball team scored two runs in the first inning and never looked back, beating the Harrisburg Bulldogs Wednesday night in Harrisburg 6-0. The Lady Bulldogs, 11-5 on the season, also scored one in the sixth and three in the seventh to snap a four-game skid against Harrisburg.

LSE lady spikers beat Centralia

The LSE girls seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams came away with a win Tuesday night at Centralia. While the Lady Pirates seventh grade team defeated Centralia in two straight 25-14 and 25-15, the eighth grade team had to go three sets to beat the Lady Panthers 24-26, 25-18 and 15-10.

Rhorer, Wilmsmeyer pitch shutout against Community R-6

The New Franklin baseball team had great pitching, excellent defense and timely hitting Tuesday night at home while beating the Community R-6 Trojans 7-0. The Bulldogs, improving to 12-0 on the season, started off the game a little slow after failing to score in the first inning but made up for it in the second on the inside the park home run to right by senior Clayton Wilmsmeyer.

Tigers lose in 8 innings against Cairo

The Pilot Grove baseball team dropped a heartbreaker Wednesday night on the road by losing to Northeast (Cairo) 2-1 in 8 innings. The Tigers, 9-3 on the season, tied the game at 1-all in the fifth but then gave up the winning run in the eighth to suffer the loss.

Lady Tigers suffer first conference loss at Madison

The Pilot Grove Lady Tigers softball team went into Tuesday night’s game against the Madison Panthers undefeated in the Central Activities Conference. However, after falling on the road against the Lady Panthers 5-3, head coach George Monk said the Lady Tigers had a whole team debacle against Madison.
