Pirates JV falls on the road against California, 40-24

The Boonville Pirates JV football team had a great start while leading the California Pintos 24-14 at the half Monday night in California. Unfortunately for Boonville, the Pintos had a better second half while rallying back with 26 unanswered points for a 4024 victory.

Lady Pirates fall to Helias 5-0 in Class 1 District 8 Team Tournament

The Boonville Lady Pirates tennis team knew the task at hand Tuesday night while facing No. 1 Helias in the Class 1 District 8 Tournament in Jefferson City. While losing to Helias earlier in the season, the Lady Pirates could only hope to steal a couple of wins away from the Crusaders and put the rest in the hands of No. 1 singles player Emma Neidig-who has already qualified for the post-season after capturing first in singles last weekend in the individual portion of the district tournament.

Lady Tigers drop CAC game against Cairo, 12-3

The Pilot Grove Lady Tigers softball team had a much better game than the previous three Wednesday night on the road in a 12-3 loss against the Cairo Lady Bearcats in CAC action. The Lady Tigers, dropping to 7-11 on the season, trailed Cairo from the first inning on as the Bearcats led 4-1 after one and 5-1 after two.

Pilot Grove boys win home opener against Jamestown, 25-18

The Pilot Grove boys middle school basketball team won its home opener Tuesday night by beating the Jamestown Eagles 25-18. The Tigers, 1-1 on the season, trailed Jamestown 10-8 at the half and 18-17 after three before rallying back with an 8-0 advantage in the final period for the win.
