DAR and BHS celebrate local veterans

For the 19th year, the Hannah Cole Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution along with the Boonville R-1 School District held a breakfast and program celebrating local veterans on Veterans Day. Veterans Day started early for some.

Chester M. Twitchell

Chester M. Twitchell, 84, of Boonville passed away at his home on November 11, 2022. Funeral services honoring Chester’s life were held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, November 15 at Bible Baptist Church of New Franklin with Pastor Rodney Haggett and Pastor Tim Miller officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Lisbon, Mo. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church on Tuesday morning. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bible Baptist Church or Rose Hill Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.marklandyager. Pilot Grove boys and girls beat Sweet Springs

The Pilot Grove boys and girls middle school basketball teams had a good night on the road by beating the Sweet Springs Greyhounds by the scores of 36-34 and 34-7, respectively. In the Pilot Grove boys game against Sweet Springs, the Tigers led the Greyhounds by the narrowest of margins in the first half while taking a 17-15 lead.

New Franklin wins on the road against Slater in CAC

The New Franklin boys and girls middle school basketball teams picked up two wins Friday night at Slater by beating the Wildcats 40-21 and 33-24, respectively. The Lady Bulldogs A-team, improving to 6-10 on the season, trailed Slater 11-2 after first period’s end before rallying back with a 14-3 advantage in the second quarter to go in at the half on top 16-14.
