Boonville Pirate wrestlers to bring athleticism to the mat in 2022-23

Boonville Pirates wrestling coach Justin Hahn knows what is in front of him this year after losing two state medalist-one of which was a state champion-for the 202223 season. Although Hahn will get a better feel of his team once the Boonville Pirates football team is done playing in the postseason, he knows right now 14 boys and eight girls will make up the team for the time being.

Schlotzhauer returns to lead Bulldogs in 2022-23

After taking a five year hiatus in coach, New Franklin boys basketball coach Jim Schlotzhauer is back coaching the Bulldogs for the 202223 season. With an overall record of 116-117 in his tenure, Schlotzhauer returns knowing that he has three returning starters and eight returning letterwinners from a team that finished 16-10 overall and 6-4 in the Central Activities Conference under former head coach Ross Dobson.

BPH boys look to surpass the .500 mark in 2022-23

The BPH (Bunceton/Prairie Home) boys basketball team were close to the .500 mark in 2021-22 while finishing 12-15 overall under head coach Trever Huth. With only nine players suited out for the 2022-23 season, BPH will return 33 percent of its team from last year with three starters and seven returning letterwinners.

BPH girls will look to rebuild in 2022-23

BPH girls basketball coach Linda Scott knows the 202223 season could be a rebuilding year. With only one returning starter and three letterwinners back for the upcoming season, Scott knows BPH (Bunceton/Prairie Home) has some work to do between now and the season opener on Monday, November 21 against Russellville at Prairie Home.

New Franklin MS boys win season finale against Glasgow

The New Franklin boys middle school basketball team had the perfect ending to the season Monday night by beating the Glasgow Yellowjackets 40-22 in three games. The Bulldogs, who closed out the season at 12-5 overall, outscored Glasgow in all four quarters and led 10-6 after one, 16-10 at the half and 28-18 after three quarters of play.
