Fight over election tally threatens Arizona certification

PHOENIX (AP) — The two Republicans who control the elected board in a rural Arizona county have sued their own elections director to force her to conduct a greatly expanded hand count of ballots cast in the Nov. 8 election, a standoff that could affect certification of the results.

Operation Christmas Child is in full swing

Churches throughout the community have been collecting items all year to fill shoeboxes for Samaritan’s Purse, otherwise known as Operation Christmas Child. “Samaritan’s Purse is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. Since 1970, Samaritan’s Purse has helped meet needs of people who are victims of war, poverty, natural disasters, disease, and famine with the purpose of sharing God’s love through His Son, Jesus Christ. The organization serves the Church worldwide to promote the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

BPH girls will look to rebuild in 2022-23

BPH girls basketball coach Linda Scott knows the 202223 season could be a rebuilding year. With only one returning starter and three letterwinners back for the upcoming season, Scott knows BPH (Bunceton/Prairie Home) has some work to do between now and the season opener on Monday, November 21 against Russellville at Prairie Home.

LSE 7th-8th girls drop 2 against California

The LSE girls seventh and eighth grade basketball teams had a tough night on the road Tuesday against the California Pintos, losing by the scores of 33-23 and 42-6, respectively. For the LSE girls eighth grade basketball team, who dropped to 2-1, they trailed California 17-6 at the half before rallying back with a 17-16 scoring edge in the second half.

LSE 7th boys improve to 3-0 with 38-22 win over Pintos

The LSE boys seventh grade basketball team improved to 3-0 on the season by beating the California Pintos 38-22 Tuesday night in Boonville. The Pirates never trailed in the game against California and led 9-2 after one, 19-10 at the half and 31-12 after three quarters of play.
