Early childhood education the focus at Boonville board of education meeting

The November Board of Education meeting Wednesday evening focused on early childhood education as well as recognition of the City of Boonville and record-breaking student athletes. The City of Boonville was recognized for their dedication to the Boonville Public School system. “The City of Boonville, for years, has stepped forward with a variety of projects ranging from helping install a water faucet at the football field, filling in potholes for us, to helping with security at the schools. Helping us with every need we have ever reached out to them. I don’t think they have ever said no,” commented Marriott. “They say, ‘yes we’re going to be on it or figure out how to fix it’”. In conversations with other superintendents that’s not necessarily the case regarding the relationships with their city. I thank all of you very much because it is a team effort. When you live in a small community, it’s an extra team effort to make everything work. We thank you for your effort.” City Administrator Kate Fjell, Chief of Police Randy Ayers, Director of Parks Paul Linhart, Fire Chief Tim Carmichael, and Assistant to City Administrator Teresa Studley accepted the plaque.
