WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Sunday the U.S. will not shrink from its unwavering support for Israel despite stark differences with Prime Minister-elect Benjamin Netanyahu and concerns the Biden administration may have about potential members of his incoming right-wing government.

LSE wrestlers compete at Higginsville, Moberly

The LSE Pirates wrestling team had a busy two days while competing in a five team meet Friday night at Higginsville and a 12 team tournament Saturday at Moberly. In the meet Friday night at Higginsville, LSE wrestling coach Christian Stock said the Pirates competed against Higginsville, Lexington, Odessa and Richmond.

Flippin goes 3-0 in quadrangular at Versailles

Boonville Pirates wrestling coach Justin Hahn said there were plenty of positives Thursday night in a quadrangular meet at Versailles. While the Pirates finished 1-2 on the season in duals against Versailles, Buffalo and North Callaway, the Lady Pirates were a perfect 3-0 and are now 5-0 on the season.

LSE 8th girls win third place in Centralia Tournament

LSE 8th boys fall in fifth place game against Centralia The LSE girls’ eighth grade basketball team captured the third place trophy in the Centralia Tournament on Thursday by beating the Mexico Lady Bulldogs 42-15. The Lady Pirates, 5-3 on the season, jumped out to a 31-5 halftime lead against Mexico and then outscored the Lady Bulldogs 11-10 in the second half.

Lady Tigers set the tone on defense to beat Stover, 53-44

Pilot Grove girls’ basketball coach Grant Fricke said the Lady Tigers came out and set the tone early with its defense while prevailing over a good Stover team 53-44 Friday night in Pilot Grove. While improving to 3-0 on the season, Pilot Grove has now won games against Concordia, La Monte and now Stover.

Caton, Ellison selected to KRES All-Star Team

The Boonville Pirates football team had two players recently selected to the KRES All-Star Team for the 2022 season. Senior Colby Caton was selected as an all-purpose player for the Pirates while senior Tyson Ellison joined three other players on the defensive line.
