Prayer Shawl Ministry still going strong

It began in 2006 at 807 Main Street in Boonville, Missouri. Linda Claas had just opened and, with the help of a few customers, started making prayer shawls. The ladies met for a couple of hours once a week and every two or three weeks a minister would be present and the shawls would be prayed over and blessed before being given to persons in need of comfort. A card was always included expressing the love of Christ and an open invitation if there was more the group could do. Sometimes the person was elderly, terminally ill, or recovering from surgery or an accident. The reason wasn’t important. The only requirement was the need for comfort.

Miracle on Main Street a resounding success

Boonville is ready to celebrate the Christmas season after the Miracle on Main Street festival this past weekend. The increasingly popular event was held this past Saturday, December 3, in and around downtown Boonville.
