Boonville wrestling coach Justin Hahn knew his team was in for a battle over the weekend while competing in the Battle on the Katy Trail, a two day event in Sedalia. With 43 teams on the boy’s side and 44 teams competing for the girls, the tournament truly lived up to its billing as the Battle on the Katy Trail.

Governor Parson Signs Executive Order 22-08 in Response to Gygr-Gas Business Closure

(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) – Today, Governor Mike Parson signed Executive Order 22-08 to waive Section 323.030 RSMo and 2 CSR 90-10.019 to allow registered Missouri liquefied petroleum gas companies to fill containers previously owned by Gygr-Gas. Gygr-Gas has reportedly ceased all business operations and is no longer serving its customers, leaving several thousand Missourians across 42 counties without propane service to their Gygr-Gas owned propane containers.

MPGA issues statement regarding Gygr-Gas

The Missouri Propane Gas Association is aware of complaints from customers unable to contact Gygr-Gas, Boonville. The Association has been in contact with the Missouri Governor’s Office, the Missouri Propane Safety Commission (MPSC) and the Missouri Attorney General’s Office regarding the situation.

Missouri announcement of ARPA Grant Recipients

Boonslick Technical Education Center was chosen as a grant recipient of the Missouri’s Area Career Center Opportunity (MACCO) Grant. The MACCO grant provides funding to enhance the state’s Career and Technical Education capacity by providing more opportunities for CTE students while updating and modernizing career centers’ infrastructure and equipment. BTEC applied for a $540,000 grant which requires a district match of 25%, or $140,000. The scope of work includes a renovation of the BTEC Compound Area as well as a Storage Building and Forklift/Skid Steer Practice Arena. Both of these projects will allow students to simulate real-world scenarios thus better preparing them for tomorrow’s workforce. The Boonville R-1 Board of Education will meet to approve or disapprove of the grant’s acceptance.
