South Carolina coach Dawn Staley has been around women’s basketball long enough to see the growing pains of a young WNBA league gradually shifting to increased interest in the sport at all levels. “We probably are bursting at the seams for the people that are decision- makers in our game to allow us to be just that,” said Staley, who led the Gamecocks to their second women’s hoops title this year.

Waste Management to run normal schedule the first week of January

With the holidays, there has been some confusion regarding trash pickup with Waste Management in the City of Boonville. Since Christmas Day fell on a Sunday this year and with many businesses closed the following Monday to observe the holiday, many residents in Boonville and the surrounding area thought that trash pickup from Waste Management would be delayed by a day.

Main Street mural to be restored

The Main Street Makeover committee has received a grant to restore the mural on the Main Street Diner. Cheryl Gates, Chair of the Main Street Makeover committee said they received a $2,500 grant from the Missouri Humanities Council for restoration of the mural that adorns the North wall of the Main Street Diner at the corner of Main and High Streets.
