1950-2023James Leroy Melkersman, 73, of Boonville passed away January 6, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be on January 14 at 4pm at the Evangelical United Church of Christ Educational Building, Boonville Mo.

Kusgen places first, Pritchett and White second in TCC Tournament

The Boonville Pirates and Lady Pirates wrestling team had five place finishers in the top three Friday night while competing in the Tri-County Conference Tournament Friday night in Eldon. Although the Lady Pirates and Pirates finished fifth and seventh, respectively, in the final team standings, they did have one conference champion as freshman Carlie Kusgen placed first in the 140 pound weight class with three falls.

Lady Pirates drop conference opener against Hallsville, 63-32

Boonville girls’ basketball coach Jared Runyon called Thursday night’s 63-32 loss against the Hallsville Lady Indians as a good learning experience for the Lady Pirates. While Runyon gave credit to Hallsville’s man defense for his team’s woes offensively, he also knew that that Lady Indians were a good athletic team with four quick guards and a good post player.

Pirates drop back and forth game against Blair Oaks

The Boonville Pirates basketball team had what head coach Mark Anderson called a back and forth game Friday night on the road while losing to the Blair Oaks Falcons 45-38. The Pirates, dropping to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in the TCC, trailed Blair Oaks by just three (23-20) at the half and four (34-30) at the end of the third period.

1927-2023 Alice Mary Gerke, 95, of Pilot Grove, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove. She was born December 23, 1927, in Tipton, the youngest of six children of Walter and Mary E.(Bestgen) Wolf.
