The 27th World Famous Pie Auction was a resounding success Friday evening. Held for the first time in three years, the Boonville R-1 School District band program held their World Famous Pie Auction on Friday, January 20.
1941-2023 Josephine Ann “Jo Ann” Hurt, 81, of Boonville, passed away January 21, 2023 at Boone Hospital in Columbia. Jo Ann was born July 12,1941 in Boonville, the daughter of Wilbur Thomas and Ottilia Vogel Hurt.
1963-2023 Kimberly Marie James, 59, of New Franklin passed away on January 12, 2023. Kim was born in Boonville on July 25, 1963, the daughter of James Lee and Betty Lou Nieman Eckerle.

The Boonville boys and girls wrestling team learned firsthand just how tough the Hickman Tournament could be over the weekend while competing in the two day tournament in Columbia. While facing 23 teams in the boy’s division and 16 for the girls, head coach Justin Hahn said the Hickman Tournament is the one of the toughest tournaments we wrestle in all season.
The New Franklin girls’ junior varsity basketball team dropped a 43-27 decision Saturday against Salisbury. The Lady Bulldogs, dropping to 3-5 on the season, trailed Salisbury 17-8 at the half and 27-16 after three quarters of play.

The New Franklin boys and girls basketball team had the perfect ending Friday night while hosting the Jamestown Eagles on Senior Night. With the Lady Bulldogs winning 66-48 over Jamestown, the New Franklin boys led the Eagles from start to finish for a convincing 89-38 victory.
The Pilot Grove girls’ basketball team had yet another close call Friday night on the road against BPH in Prairie Home. With the Lady Tigers leading by nine at the half and nine at the end of the third quarter, one would have thought that Pilot Grove just needed to match BPH in the final period to win the game.
