Kiwanis Chili Day served hundreds

The smell of ground beef and chili powder wafted through the open doors of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church Wednesday January 25, as individuals lined up to get a taste of the Boonville Kiwanis Club’s Annual Chili Day fundraiser.

THOMAS ALLEN QUINT

1939-2023 Thomas Allen Quint, 83 years old, passed peacefully in his sleep Jan. 7th, with his family by his side. Tom was born Dec. 7, 1939, to Vernon and Anna Quint in Boonville, MO. After graduating from Rock Falls High School in 1957 and went on to study at Mt. Vernon Bible Col-lege, where he met and married June Quint. They both graduated in 1961. After graduation, they spent many years pastoring severalFoursquare churches in the Midwest. They had 5 children. Tom was a force of nature, determined to provide for hisfamily and give them the life and adventures he felt they deserved. In 1979 he packed his kids and drove to Alaskato start a new adventure working in the oilfield, and settledseveral years later on the Kenai Peninsula. He took special pride in taking his grandchildren out into the woods to camp, hunt, and fish. His sense of adventure was contagious. He made many close friends living in Alaskaand working the oilfield. After retiring he moved back to Boonville MO, to be with his mother. He filled his retirement years with family, travel, his close friends and his church, The Firm Foundation Foursquare Church. Anyone who knew him, knew that Tom Quint was a loving father and a good friend to many. Mr. Quint was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Vernon and Anna Margaret Quint, brother in law Herb Dickard, and his grandson Paxton Quint. He is survived byhis children Ronald Quint and wife Tami of Los Banos CA, Bonnie Ogden and her husband Duane of Kasilof AK,Mark Quint of Houston TX, Eric Quint of Soldotna AK, and Kenneth Quint and his wife Janelle of Riverside CA.Tom also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, John Quint and his wife Doris of Boonville MO, Margaret Rose Dickard of Boonville MO, and Tim Quint and his wifeTricia of Eufala AL. At Tom’s request, his ashes are returned to Alaska. They will be spread at Nikolai Creek on Tustumena Lake, July 21,2023 Arrangements are under the direction

BPH boys and girls win on the road against La Monte

The BPH boys’ basketball team have been waiting for something good to happen for their team after losing so many close games this season. That time came Thursday night on the road against the La Monte Vikings as BPH led from start to finish for a convincing 48-34 victory.

Pilot Grove girls bounce back in third place game against Glasgow

Tiger boys fall to Brunswick for third place, 73-62 The Pilot Grove girls’ basketball team had the perfect bounce back game on Saturday in the Wildcat Classic in Slater by beating the Glasgow Lady Yellowjackets for third place 5131. The Lady Tigers, improving to 16-4 on the season, outscored Glasgow in all but one quarter and led 15-11 after one, 2517 at the half and 31-24 after three quarters of play.
